Dr. Ahmad: Medical Director
I am Nasir J. Ahmad, M.D., J.D. I am one of the owners of Quality Renal Care L.L.C. (QRC) dialysis units in Carpentersville and Marengo, Illinois. I am also the Medical Director of QRC in Carpentersville.
I did my internship at St. Elizabeth's hospital in Chicago. My residency in Internal Medicine was at V.A. Hospital, Hines, Illinois and my Nephrology fellowship was at Hines/Loyola University Medical Center.
In 1974, I started my medical practice in Elgin. In 1976 I started the first hemodialysis unit in Kane and McHenry counties at Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
During my years of private practice of Medicine and Nephrology, I have served as the President of Kane County Medical Society; President of the Medical Staff of Sherman Hospital; President of the Crescent Counties Foundation, a federally funded entity that oversaw quality of medical care provided to Medicare beneficiaries in Illinois and Chairman of Governing Council of Renal Network of Illinois, an entity that monitored the care provided to dialysis patients in Illinois.
I was recently included in the list of top doctors in the Country by U.S. News and World Reports.
In 1989, I graduated from Law School at Northern Illinois University and passed my bar examination the same year.
A few years ago, I worked as a volunteer Physician in Guyana, South America, at Mercy Hospital in Georgetown. I was there for 4 months and returned there a short time later with medical equipment for Mercy Hospital. My experience in Guyana was extremely rewarding for me.
My hobbies include reading, playing golf (I am an average player) and fishing the salt water flats of North Florida and Southern Georgia (A couple of years ago, I caught a 125 pound Tarpon in Florida). I also enjoy watching football and I am a Chicago Bears Fan.
Quality Renal Care L.L.C. is a small company where each patient is treated as a special person with respect and quality medical care. I am very proud of my staff at the QRC. The key staff I have personally known for over 20 years. They are the best in their field.
